That is because he did something awful and she reacted. She had every right to react the way she did. But his mom is his most loyal flying monkey- who I am sure never asked herself this; would I want my granddaughter to be with a heroin addict? To go through a few rehab stints with? To wait for someone in jail/prison. To be with someone who constantly is sorry but never changes? How wild I expect my granddaughter to react if someone put her through emotional torture like that? If she did ask those questions she wouldn’t be an enabler. Soon enough I became the crazy girlfriend. Just remember that no matter what new supply they have- they will always go through the same stages. Idealize- devalue and than the discard.
