The Valjoux 7750 was designed as a strudy “economic” movement, so Omega is adding bells and whistles by throwing in the co-axial and a column-wheel. My problem with this is that they apply a makeover on a cheap movement, while the customer would deserve a high-end architecture for that price.
In alternative, I would recommend a TAG Heuer chronograph with the calibre 1887. Based on the Seiko 6S37, the calibre 1887 was designed from the start to include a column wheel for smooth operating, and a vertical clutch for instant chronograph start, which is a feature that the Omega 3330 lacks. I would also add that TAG Heuer’s history with racing is far more genuine than Omega’s.
